Fire Commission

The Fire Commission is a five member Board, each serving a term of three years, with the powers and duties as prescribed by town ordinance. 

The Commission is charged with the financial management of the town funds used by the Somers Volunteer Fire Department as well the supervision and care of Town apparatus, buildings and equipment used by the Fire Department.

The Commission approves the Fire Chief that has been elected by the volunteer membership of the Fire Department and appoints the Fire Marshal, Deputy Fire Marshal and any Fire Inspectors needed by the Town.  

The Fire Commission generally meets once a month on the third Thursday at the Somers Fire Station.  The current members are:
