The Town of Somers has prepared a draft Annual Report for calendar year 2023 in accordance with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection General Permit for the Discharge of Stormwater from Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems effective July 1, 2017. The Annual Report will be available for public review at the following address on the Town’s website, www.somersct.gov, and in the Public Works Department at 93 Egypt Road, during normal business hours starting March 4, 2024. Comments on the draft annual report can be submitted to Todd Rolland, Director of Land Use and Public Works (93 Egypt Road, Somers, CT 06071, (860) 763-8238, [email protected]) until April 18, 2024.

The Somers Recycling Center will be closed on February 19th in observance of Presidents Day. We will be open normal business hours on Thursday February 22nd.

Due to tomorrow’s storm, Town Hall, Piedmont Hal, Kibbe Fuller, and the Senior Center will be closed.

The forecast is for the storm to begin in Somers between 4:00 am and 6:00 am, with heavy snow and wind in the morning, tapering off in the afternoon.

Total accumulations are predicted to be between 8” and 14” in Somers.

There is a parking ban in effect from midnight tonight until midnight tomorrow night.

I anticipate all area school systems to close and a travel ban to be in effect.

The Town of Somers Public Works Department will sell at public auction Personal Items stored in its storage facility from 116 Main Street, Apartment A.

This auction will take place on Monday, December 18, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Somers Recycling Center, 127 Egypt Road, Somers, CT 06071.
Items may be viewed Ten (10) minutes before the auction.
