The purpose of this meeting is to provide the community with an opportunity to learn about the proposed project and allow an open discussion of any views and comments concerning the proposed improvements. A Q&A session will immediately follow the presentation.
The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate the existing bridge, construct a concrete parapet with a moment slab on the western side of the bridge to provide a crashworthy barrier with a similar aesthetic to the existing barrier on the east side, and install a new parallel pedestrian bridge downstream of the existing bridge for safe pedestrian mobility.
Based upon a preliminary assessment, the construction cost will be approximately $2.8 million. Construction of this project is being funded at 100% under the LOTCIP program.
There will be a 14-day comment period that follows the meeting.
Individuals may leave a question or comment via email/phone by contacting Todd Rolland, Public Works & Emergency Management Director, at (860) 763-8238 or trolland@somersct.gov.
